The Irvine Valley men's basketball team had the lead for most of the game Wednesday night at San Diego Miramar.
But the Jets ended up out-scoring the Lasers, 45-21, in the second half to come away with a 67-53 victory.
IVC was out-scored, 24-5, over the final 9:42 of the game to see its record fall to 8-4 overall. Miramar improved to 4-6 on the season.
Freshman forward Matt Mowers led the Lasers with 16 points and seven rebounds. He made 8 of 10 shots from the fied in the game.
The next leadings scorers for IVC were sophomore forwards Josiah Reed and Ethan Tauber with six points each.
Freshman guard Allen Moser chipped in five points, five rebounds and three steals.
Irvine Valley, ranked No. 28 in the state, plays again on Friday, hosting No. 10 in the state Mt. SAC at 5 p.m.
