The Irvine Valley women's volleyball team lost to Mt. SAC, 4-1, Wednesday morning in a nonconference match at home.
The Mounties won the first four matches before the No. 4 duo of sophomore Felicia Bonus and freshman Ava Guenther won in three sets.
Bonus and Guenther battled back from a set down to earn a 19-21, 21-11, 15-13 victory.
The defeat on the day sent Irvine Valley's record to 3-4 overall.
The overall match was close across the board. Irvine Valley went to three sets with Mt. SAC on two other courts.
Freshman Halen Kiefer and sophomore Natalia Brandlin lost in three sets (15-1 in the third) on court No. 3 and the freshman pair of Alya Mersin and Nikki Korneff also fell in three sets (15-3 in the third).
Irvine Valley is back at home on Friday, hosting an Orange Empire Conference matches starting at 10 a.m.
IVC will play Fullerton at 10 a.m. and then Saddleback at noon.
