CUPERTINO – Sophomore Sarah King scored twice while Cassandra Herrera was solid in goal to help lead the Cañada College women's soccer team to a 4-0 win at De Anza College in its Coast Conference opener on Friday.
The Colts are unbeaten in six of their last seven games, going 5-1-1 over that span. With the win, Cañada improved to 6-2-2 overall this season.
King scored in the second and 25th minute of Friday's contest to give the Colts a 2-0 lead. Camilla Arellano added a goal in the 31st minute and the Colts took a 3-0 advantage into halftime.
Celeste Calvo broke through for a goal in the 83rd minute to close the scoring for Cañada. Herrera and the Colts' defense played another impressive match to post their sixth shutout of the season.
Cañada is back in action next Friday (Oct. 11) when the Colts travel to West Valley College for a 4 p.m. Coast Conference game.
