Women's soccer team earns shutout victory at Grossmont

The Irvine Valley women's soccer team headed down to San Diego for its second contest of 2024.

After playing Pasadena City tough last Friday in a 1-0 loss at home in their opener, the Lasers were even better at Grossmont on Tuesday.

Freshman forward Megan Beal and sophomore midfielder/forward Jordan Madison each finished with two goals for the Lasers.

Sophomore goalie and captain Sydney Salamoff, who was an all-Orange Empire player last season at IVC, recorded the shutout and only had to make a couple of saves on the day.

The four goals for Irvine Valley are the most since the Lasers won, 5-1, over East LA at home on Sept. 13, 2022.

Even more stats and details will be shared on Wednesday.

Irvine Valley hosts LA City in another match on Friday at home at 3 p.m.
