LONG BEACH -- The offense really came to life in a big way for the Orange Coast College baseball team as the Pirates rolled past host Long Beach City College, 16-4, on Tuesday at LBCC.
Coast (4-5) pounded out 16 hits and capped off the offensive onslaught with a nine-run eighth inning to blow things wide open.
Dylan Krause went 2-for-4 with two runs and four RBI for the Pirates. Kael Corridan added two hits and three RBI, Gibson Rath went 3-for-5 with a run and three RBI and Tyler Covington went 2-for-2 and scored four times.
On "staff" day, Randy Limon pitched the opening three innings and held the Vikings to no runs on two hits with three strikeouts. Alex Gelb also threw well, allowing just two hits with a pair of strikeouts over three scoreless innings of work.
The Pirates will return to action at College of the Canyons, weather permitting, on Thursday, beginning at 1 p.m. OCC's next home game will take place on Tuesday against Southwestern, also at 1 p.m.
