
The VC men's tennis team shutout Fullerton 9-0 Monday at the VC Tennis Center to begin the final full week of the regular season. Ariitea Cotti-Helme and Leo Pham demonstrated the Pirates' depth, both winning love and love in Nos. 5 and 6 singles, respectively, helping post the victory.
Max Beaudry and Manolo Vanbesien also shows Ventura's depth with an 8-1 win at No. 3 doubles. Meanwhile, Rafael Matias and Yanis Guerrout, along with Yusen Sato and Haru Nakayama prevailed in their Nos. 1 and 2 doubles matches, each by an 8-3 score.
Cotti-Helme and Pham each did not give up a game in their straight-set sweeps while Nakayama won in No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-2. Guerrout took his No. 2 singles contest 6-0, 6-2 and Sato won Court 4, 6-1, 6-1. Matias closed out the sweep with a 6-4, 6-4 win in the top singles contest of the day.
Ventura (11-3, 6-0) continues their week with a home match against Fresno on Tuesday Mar. 25 beginning at 2:00 pm.
