
COALINGA – The Coalinga College women's volleyball team bounced back from a pair of tough losses last week with two much-needed Central Valley Conference victories.
The Falcons opened the week with a 3-1 win at Porterville College and wrapped it up with a sweep of College of the Sequoias at home. Coalinga improved to 17-6 overall and 6-5 in the Central Valley Conference. The Falcons currently sit in fourth place in the CVC standings.
Coalinga got contributions from all over the court in the 23-25, 25-12, 25-21, 25-20 win at Porterville. Zoe Ruskofsky totaled a match-high 21 kills to go along with 10 digs.
Macy Ellis was solid in the win with a season-high 18 kills as well as 16 digs. Tiara Daly added 10 kills. Sarah Wold posted 39 assists, 6 digs, and 5 aces, while Aryam Munoz led with 27 digs.
Faith Bakker contributed 19 digs and Tiffany Kelton added 15 assists.
The Falcons returned home for a 25-16, 25-19, 25-21 win over COS on Friday. Ruskofsky and Ellis both had 10 kills each to lead their squad while Kaylee Bayer added 8 kills.
Munoz led with 11 digs and Wold had a match-high 17 assists.
The Falcons will look to keep the momentum going next Friday (Nov. 1) when they travel to Reedley College for a 6 p.m. conference match.
