BAKERSFIELD, CA – Behind a dominant complete-game shutout from Jordan Mora, the Bakersfield College baseball team blanked the visiting Allan Hancock Bulldogs 5-0 at home. Mora was in complete control, allowing just five hits while striking out five and walking only two over nine innings.
Offensively, the Renegades broke through in the sixth inning with an RBI single from Anthony Nunez to take a 1-0 lead. They added insurance in the eighth, capitalizing on a pair of Hancock errors and clutch hits, including two-run singles from Nunez and Nick Martin to extend the lead to 5-0.
Hancock's starting pitcher kept BC in check through five scoreless innings but took the loss after surrendering a run in the sixth. The Bulldogs struggled offensively, managing just five hits and failing to push a run across.
With the win, Bakersfield improves to 4-3 on the season and will play Allan Hancock again on their turf on Saturday.
