Butte College Rolls Past Napa Valley with Dominant 13-2 Victory

The Butte College Roadrunners put together a commanding performance against the Napa Valley Storm, cruising to a 13-2 victory behind an explosive offensive showing and solid pitching.

The Roadrunners wasted no time getting on the board, capitalizing on early opportunities in the first inning. Aidan Santos led off with a walk, followed by Aidan Robles getting hit by a pitch. Jason Olsen then reached on a bunt single, loading the bases. Butte's first run came on a wild pitch before Jaden Thomson knocked in another with an RBI single, giving the Roadrunners an early lead.

The offense exploded in the second inning, sparked by a walk from Dylan O'Hair and Alonso Rivera getting hit by a pitch. A defensive miscue by Napa allowed two Butte runs to score before Santos roped a double to bring in Carter Imbach. After Robles and Olsen worked walks to load the bases, Trent Van Nuys delivered the biggest swing of the day—a grand slam that blew the game wide open.

Butte added four more runs in the fifth inning, with Santos, Robles, Olson, and Van Nuys each driving in a run to cap off the scoring.

On the mound, Butte used a staff day approach, with multiple pitchers combining to allow just two runs on nine hits while striking out seven. The Roadrunners' pitching staff kept Napa Valley from mounting any serious comeback, controlling the game from start to finish.

With the dominant victory, Butte continues to showcase its offensive firepower and depth on the mound. The Roadrunners will look to build on this momentum as they prepare for their next matchup against the American River Beavers.
