COD Women's Tennis nearly sweeps the Mounties, 5-1

COD (4-3; 4-2) took to the road for a South Coast Conference (SCC) match-up, winning five of six head-to-head matches over the Mt. San Antonio Mounties of Walnut (3-6; 2-4), 5-1.

In doubles play, the team of freshman Emunah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Antonella Mazzotti (Rancho Mirage H.S.) won easily, 8-1. The team of freshman Shekinah Daffon (Palm Springs H.S.) and freshman Kimberly Jimenez (Rancho Mirage H.S.) took down the Mounties, 8-1. Mt. San Antonio would win the third doubles match in a walkover.

In singles play, the Daffon Sisters (Shekinah & Emunah) dominiated in their singles victories against Mt. San Antonio, downing their Mounties opponents in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-0. Mazzotti effortlessly won in straight sets, 6-0 and 6-1. Jimenez fell in straight sets, 6-2 and 6-2 and the Mounties took the fifth and sixth singles match in a walkover.

The next match for College of the Desert Women's Tennis will be at the Mt. San Jacinto Eagles of San Jacinto where they will continue South Coast Conference (SCC) play on March 24th at 2p.

College of the Desert defeated Mt. San Antonio College, 5-4 in South Coast Conference play at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
