COD (1-8; 1-5) finally shook off the dust and collected their first win of the 2025 season, defeating the El Camino Warriors of Torrance (1-8; 1-5) in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play, 4-3.

Earlier in the day, Desert concluded an earlier match which had been suspended due to darkness on February 11 in Palm Desert. The 2's singles match was a quick one as the Warriors, freshman Tarik Hossain (Manhattan Beach Mira Costa), defeated freshman Chandra Ishikawa (Kawagoe, Japan), 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (16-14).

In doubles play, the 2's team of sophomore Nathaniel Jimenez (Beaumont H.S.) and freshman Matthew Rubio (Palm Desert H.S.) won a hard fought match, 8-6.

In singles play, wins were secured by Ishikawa, Rubio and freshman Jonathan Cruz Gonzalez (Cathedral City H.S.).

The next contest for the Roadrunners will continue Inland Empire Athletic Conference (IEAC) play by traveling to the Mt. San Antonio Mounties of Walnut, on Thursday, March 13, with the match beginning at 2p. 

College of the Desert defeated El Camino College, 4-3 in Inland Empire Athletic Conference play at El Camino College in Torrance.
