Butte College sweeps team titles at the Liam Sehorn Invitational
OROVILLE – Butte College hosted the Liam Sehorn Invitational on Friday morning and came away with a dominant performance, sweeping both the men’s and women’s team titles on their home course.
The Butte women scored 20 points, led by Ariana Garcia, who won the 5K race in 21:06. Teammate Paulina Arias followed in 21:23 for second, while Brooklyn Glover placed fifth in 22:32 to complete the sweep.

Ariana Garcia and Paulina Arias both rank among Northern California’s top 30, sitting 22nd (22:08) and 28th (20:31). Gabby Crosswhite of Redwoods is 52nd (21:55), followed by Brooklyn Glover of Butte in 53rd (21:59) and Jennaveve Lara of Sacramento City in 61st (22:33). The Butte women currently hold the #6 NorCal ranking.
The men’s team also took first place, scoring 20 points ahead of Redwoods (39) and Sacramento City (78). Benji Granados led the 4-mile race with a time of 21:44, followed closely by teammates Tristan Bobadilla (22:15) and Everett Docherty (22:17) in second and third.

Redwoods, currently ranked #14 in Northern California, had strong performances from Phoenix Davis, who placed fourth and sits 85th in the NorCal rankings (22:51), and Chase Jimenez, who took fifth and ranks 77th (22:35). Sacramento City is ranked #16 in NorCal.
