Allan Hancock cross country hosts Bulldogs Invitational
SANTA MARIA - The Allan Hancock College cross country programs hosted the inaugural Bulldogs Invitational Meet at Las Flores Ranch last Friday morning.
Peyton Miya and Rylie Allen led the women's program once again with a pair of top-10 finishes in the 3,000-meter race. Miya was tops for the Bulldogs with a fourth place performance after turning in a final time of 21:46.02, while Allen finished in seventh with a time of 23:02.05. The women's team finished in third place out of three scoring teams behind Bakersfield (35) and Cuesta (38).
John Gutierrez headlined the effort for the men's program with his second consecutive individual meet title after turning in a final time of 22:22.16 in the four-miler. Fellow Bulldog Erick Marceleno also landed in the top-10, securing eighth place with a time of 23:45.61. As a team, the Bulldogs finished in second, landing behind Bakersfield (30) and topping Cuesta (48).
Both squads will return to action at the Clovis Invitational, hosted at Woodward Park in Fresno, on September 6th.
