State champion Liao victorious in fast opening 100-meter race for College of San Mateo
2020 CCCAA Outdoor Track and Field Performance List
HAYWARD - Reigning state sprint champion Yan-Jun (Sophie) Liao of College of San Mateo won her first 100 meter race of the season in impressive fashion in 12.18 seconds at the Chabot College Relays in Hayward on Friday. The time was just .01 off the early season state lead.
Liao also lowered her season 200 meter best to 25.06, which ranks No. 3 in the state for 2020. She is the defending California Community College Athletic Association champion in both events.
Top CSM men’s performances were by Robert Breen, 50.48 for fourth in the 400 meters, Luca DiMaio 2:07.18 in the 800 meters, and Nicholas Moore, 4:26.21 for the 1,500 meters.
Other San Mateo women’s performances included Shannen Dorn, 2:37.16 in the 800 meters.
