Desert Plays To A 2-2 Draw With Cuesta

San Luis Obispo - The Roadrunners battled to a 2-2 draw on the road at Cuesta College. The women took a 2-1 lead into halftime, but they surrendered the equalizer in the 73rd minute. Britney Vargas was strong in goal recording eight saves.
Melita Pena got the scoring started for the Roadrunners in the 10th minute with an assist from Mariana Moreno. Cuesta evened the score in the 27th minute, but it only took COD five minutes to regain the lead. Cynthia Hernandez netted the second goal with an assist by Pena. That was the way the first half ended. The tie moved the Roadrunners to 0-1-1 on their two game road trip.
The first game of the trip saw COD fall to Oxnard by a score of 3-1. Cynthia Hernandez scored the lone goal on a penalty kick in the 55th minute. The women return home for next Friday's match against the College of Southern Nevada at 6:00 PM.
