Modesto Women Hold No.1 Rank, Taft Men Jump To Top Spot
This week's CCCAA/CCCSIA Men's Soccer State and Regional Polls, the fourth of the season, are easily highlighted by a near perfect record for the teams in the north. This week's top-10 had just one loss and one tie since last week's poll. That success can contribute to the Taft College taking over the top spot in the state poll. However, not everyone enjoyed that success in the south as Mt. San Antonio College lost the #1 spot in both the south and the state with a loss to Long Beach City College last week. Another tough loss went to Santa Ana College. The once #1 Dons now find themselves #8 in the south and #14 in the state due to a loss to Orange Coast College. Finally, two new colleges broke into the polls, one in each region with San Francisco City College grabbing #10 in the north while Santiago Canyon College took #7 in the south.
There was little movement in the fourth installment of the CCCAA/CCCSIA Women's Soccer State and Regional Polls this week due to the fact that there weren't many losses by the teams that occupy the polls. The top six colleges in the state poll went a combined 10-0-1 since last week's poll. The biggest move belonged to Santa Monica College as the Corsairs used a pair of shutout victories to move up six spots in the state poll, from #11 to #5. Santa Monica also cracked the top-3 in the SoCal poll. In the north, it was Santa Rosa Junior College moving into the top-5 to mark the only change on top of those standings. Along with those moves, the south has new face with Mt. San Jacinto College moving into the top-10 while the state poll has two new colleges. College of the Canyons is now #12 while Ohlone College sits at #15.
