MariCruz Chapa scored twice as state No. 2 Fresno City College cruised past Sequoias 5-0 Tuesday and tied Taft atop the Central Valley Conference women's soccer standings.
Chapa's goal in the 2nd minute was all the Rams (13-0-2, 2-0) would need. Fresno City plays at No. 10 Taft (10-4-1, 2-0) on Oct. 28.
The Sequoias (4-8-1, 0-2) received nine saves from goalkeeper Anna Covarrubias.
