Cerritos captures Southern California Regional championship
For the first time since 2016, Cerritos College won the Southern California Regional wrestling championship.

For the first time since 2016, Cerritos College won the Southern California Regional wrestling championship. The Falcons, who finished in second place behind Palomar College in 2018 and Mt. San Antonio College in 2017, compiled 216.5 team points and had five individual champions. Bakersfield College finished a close second place with 188.5 team points, with Mt. San Antonio taking third place with 168 team points. Cerritos won the SoCal championship from 2014-16.
Cerritos also qualified 11 wrestlers to the CCCAA State Championships, which will be held at Fresno City College next weekend. The second place Renegades had two individual champions and will be sending eight entries to the state tournament, with the Mounties have nine entries but didn't win any weight championships. Palomar, who came in sixth place in the team standings, won two weight titles, with Moorpark College earning the other, as they took seventh place as a team.
