After upsetting second place Chabot on Wednesday and rolling past Ohlone, 79-35 on Saturday, College of San Mateo’s women’s basketball team battles for that runner-up spot with visiting rival Skyline College Wednesday (Feb. 6) at 5 p.m. at the College Heights gym. The foes have the longest current win streaks in the tight league, Skyline at three games and CSM at two.

After upsetting second place Chabot on Wednesday and rolling past Ohlone, 79-35 on Saturday, College of San Mateo's women's basketball team battles for that runner-up spot with visiting rival Skyline College Wednesday (Feb. 6) at 5 p.m. at the College Heights gym. The foes have the longest current win streaks in the tight league, Skyline at three games and CSM at two.
Skyline is coming off its biggest win, 72-68, over Coast North leader City College of San Francisco (ranked No. 8 in the state), to open the second half of league play. The Trojans (5-2) are now just a game behind San Francisco (6-1). The top five teams are all within two games of each other.
It's the most crucial week of the month for the Bulldogs (4-3) , who visit CCSF on Friday at 5 p.m.
--Emily Latu and Megan Jajeh each had 11 points as all 11 CSM players scored against Ohlone. Latu also led the Bulldogs with nine rebounds and had two assists Jajeh had three assists and a steal. Kaitlyn Tamondong had four of CSM's 16 steals, many of which led to fast break lay-ups.
Keri La and Anaseini Fakava each had 17 points for host Skyline in the win over CCSF. Kalisi Fononga had 17 rebounds and 12 points for the Trojans, who had a 49-22 advantage on the boards.
Current Northern California coaches rankings have CCSF No. 4, Chabot No. 7, and Skyline No. 10.
