No. 4 Palomar keeps pace with victory over MiraCosta

SAN MARCOS, Calif. - Palomar warmed up for Friday's first-place showdown with Mt. San Jacinto by demolishing rival MiraCosta 108-43 in a Pacific Coast Athletic Conference game at The Dome on Wednesday night.
Allie Israel (23 points, 7 three-pointers) led five Comets in doublel figures. Monica Todd (17 points), Ariana Hernandez (17 points, 5 three-points), Roshell Lamug (13 points, 2 three-pointers) and Kendall Crosby (12 points, 4 threes) combined with Israel to score 82 of Palomar's 108 points. Kaylee Puckett added 9 points.
The state No. 4-ranked Comets (20-2, 4-0 in the North Division) will visit the No. 8-ranked Eagles (21-3, 3-1) on Friday at 5 p.m. at Mt. San Jacinto's gym. The teams have split two previous meetings, with the Mt. San Jac winning in November in its own tournament and Palomar bouncing back to rout the Eagles in a first-round North Division game.
