Women's basketball regional brackets announced

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Defending state champion Mt. San Antonio College has been awarded the top seed in the upcoming CCCAA Women’s Basketball Regional Championship while Sierra College is the top seed in the Northern California bracket, it was announced on Monday.
The Mounties (28-2) will face the winner of Wednesday’s first-round game between No. 16-seeded Long Beach (18-11) and No. 17 Antelope Valley (15-13). Sierra (25-3) will open play on Saturday, facing the winner of Wednesday’s matchup between No. 16 Reedley (14-11) and No. 17 Merced (14-15).
Most teams have byes into the second round, which will be played on Friday and Saturday with winners advancing to third-round action on Mar. 4. The four survivors from each region will advance to the CCCAA Championships at Las Positas College in Livermore on Mar. 10-12.
Games are played at the site of the higher seed. Times will be announced on Tuesday.
