San Diego City College (7-0) vs. De Anza College (10-0)
Thursday May 8th 2014 @ De Anza College 3pm

Thursday will be a rematch of last year's State championship in Pasadena, which De Anza College (10-0) won by a final score of 12-9 over the then defending State Champion, San Diego City College (7-0). Both teams were undefeated entering last year's championship, just as they are this season. De Anza advances to the finals with a 16-5 victory over Fresno City while San Diego City beat East L.A. 17-4.

The San Diego City Knights comes in with a 22-match win streak in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play while the De Anza Dons are riding a 22-match streak dating back to the 2012 season. Sheung Wei "Pinky" Li of De Anza is also trying to repeat in all three badminton State titles this weekend: team, singles and doubles.

For San Diego City College this is the third year in a row they've reached State as a team. SDCC won the title four times, in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2012.

De Anza is led by Pinky, Alice Liu, Jessica Dinh, and Christina Ja, the #1-4 players who have collectively lost only one singles match this season.  The foursome also forms the top two doubles teams who are undefeated to date.  Pinky is undefeated in her two years of play at De Anza College.
