Fullerton Claims 2024 3C2A State Championship
SARATOGA, CA — The Fullerton College Hornets are the 2024 3C2A State Champions.
The Hornets defeated the Cypress College Chargers 6-2 in the winner-take-all game to claim their first 3C2A Championship since 1980 and second overall.

2024 3C2A Championship Tournament Most Valuable Player Allyson Fuentes led the Hornets in the win. She pitched a complete game and kept the powerful Chargers' squad in check. She struck out two and allowed just five hits and one earned run to deliver Fullerton the win.

Coco Siono and Jiana Lopez led the Hornets with two RBIs apiece.
Cypress took the early lead in the deciding game. They did all their damage in the third inning highlighted by RBI singles from Kaitlyn Reynolds and Jaylene Duarte to take a 2-0 lead.
Fullerton responded with four runs in the fourth to take the lead for good. The Hornets scored runs on four straight at-bats led by an Alyssa Garcia single that sent Haley Garcia home. Milene Mendoza followed with an RBI infield single that plated pinch runner Caitlyn Stear to even the game 2-2. Mendoza led Cypress with two hits and two runs.
Siono gave the Hornets the lead for good when she scored Alyssa Garcia on an infield groundout. Lopez singled in Mendoza to add an insurance run.
The Hornets put the game away for good when they scored two more runs off the bats of Siono and Lopez.

Cypress forced the deciding game after winning game one of the doubleheader 4-1. They were led in the win by Reynolds who was named Most Valuable Pitcher and Julian Doan who earned Tournament Best Hitter.
Macy Brandl, Veronica Moore, Haley Garica, and Alyssa Garcia earned All-Tournament honors for the Hornets. Jaylene Duarte and Nanea Kyle picked up All-Tournament honors for the Chargers.
