Reynolds Leads Cypress Past Palomar
SARATOGA, CA — Kaitlyn Reynolds led the Chargers in the circle and at the plate and Cypress College eliminated Palomar College with a 7-1 win Friday afternoon.
The Chargers now await the winner between Mt. San Antonio College and the College of San Mateo tomorrow at 3 p.m. at West Valley College. Palomar ends their season with a 40-6 record.
Reynolds played an outstanding all-around game. She went 3-4 at the plate with two RBIs and pitched a complete game with two strikeouts. She set the tone early, hitting a solo home run in the first inning to give the Chargers a lead they would never relinquish.

Makayla Motis drove in three runs for the Chargers. She kept her squad's momentum rolling in the third when she singled to right center to plate two runs. She hit a sacrifice fly in the seventh to put a stamp on the game.
Julia Doan and Ashlynn Ortiz added a pair of hits for the Chargers. Doan put Cypress up 5-0 when she doubled in Nanea Kyle and Mikala Jacobsen in the fourth.
Maddie Scott brought in the Comets' only run of the game with an RBI groundout in the fourth. Lauren Stehly went 2-2 for Palomar and Breanna Lutz hit a double.
