San Jose City College Head Coach Debbie Huntze-Rooney Earns 900th Win

SAN JOSE, CA — San Jose City College softball head coach Debbie Huntze-Rooney recently achieved a major milestone in her coaching career, her 900th win. On March 14 the Jaguars beat Cabrillo College 11-4 to capture the win and milestone.

The accomplishment is a testament to Coach Huntze-Rooney's dedication, passion, and commitment to softball and her players. Over her 33 year career, Coach Huntze-Rooney has guided the San Jose City College softball team to ten Coast Conference Championships, made trips to the postseason playoffs year after year, and appeared in five 3C2A State Championship Tournaments.

Coach Huntze-Rooney's softball journey began as a player. Her experiences on the field ignited a passion for coaching, a path that put her in a position to give back to her players and student-athletes. The impact she has made on the lives of the young women she has coached is profound and enduring.
