Enriquez and the Hawks took on a brutal schedule in its opening weekend. Santiago opened up its season with games against the top two teams in the state (No. 1 Mt. San Antonio and No. 2 College of San Mateo) and then played a third against SoCal No. 8 Bakersfield College. The Hawks ended up 2-2 on the weekend and Enriquez proved her worth by hitting .500. She went 1 for 2 against Mt. SAC and 2 for 2 with a pair of runs in SCC’s win over San Mateo. It was her performance in the final game of the weekend that sealed the award though, as she was 2 for 3 with a pair of runs, two RBIs, and the walk-off home run against Cerritos College. Enriquez prepped at Villa Park High School in Villa Park.
