NorCal standouts sweep Pitcher and Player of the Week awards from 3CFCA
GLENDORA - Monterey Peninsula College freshman pitcher Jesse Dupuis and San Jose City College sophomore utility player Madison Gallagher took home the California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association (3CFCA) Pitcher and Player of the Week honors for the second week of the 2019 CCCAA Softball season.
Jesse Dupuis | Monterey Peninsula College | Freshman | Pitcher
Dupuis continued her strong collegiate start this past week with a pair at wins of Santa Rosa Junior College and Reedley College, respectively. In the win against Santa Rosa, Dupuis allowed just one baserunner and struck out three batters while working just four innings. It was her performance against Reedley, however, that helped seal the award as she outdueled Reedley’s Emily Grimbleby with a complete-game two-hitter. Dupuis allowed just two walks and struck out 10 batters as the Lobos handed theNo. 15 Tigers their first loss of the season. Dupuis leads the state in wins thus far with five, and is fourth in the CCCAA with 26 K’s. Dupuis prepped at Mt. Spokane High School in Mead, Wash.
Madison Gallagher | San Jose City College | Sophomore | Utility
In a pair of games against Santa Rosa Junior College, Gallagher started both in the circle and won both contests. At the plate, she more than helped her own cause, going 6 for 7 (.857 BA), with two home runs, a double, six RBIs and four runs scored. Gallagher is currently tied for second in the state with three home runs. She’s also fourth in the CCCAA in RBIs, with 11. Gallagher prepped at Live Oak High School and hails from San Martin, Calif.
