March 14, 2017
SAN JOSE, Calif. – Longtime San Jose City College head softball coach Deborah Huntze-Rooney won the 700th game of her career recently. Huntze-Rooney and her Jaguars accomplished the feat on Feb. 11 in the second game of a doubleheader with Santa Rosa Junior College.
Huntze-Rooney is just the 10th coach in CCCAA history to reach the 700-win plateau. In her 26th season with the program, Huntze-Rooney is currently fourth on the active wins leader list, trailing just Cypress College's Brad Pickler, Sacramento City College's Tim Kiernan and Saddleback College head coach Nick Trani.
