Folsom Lake joins Foothill, Hartnell and Mt. San Antonio in top four of CCCSIA Men's Soccer Poll
RIVERSIDE - The Northern California two-headed monster has transformed into a three-headed beast in this week’s California Community College Sports Information Association (CCCSIA) men’s soccer poll as the North overtakes the top three positions in the rankings.
No. 1 Foothill remains steadfast as the state’s top team following another flawless week. They have yet to record a loss and are the lone unbeaten team remaining in the state. No. 7 Golden West had yet to be defeated entering into the last week’s slate, but they fell to Cypress, 2-1. Foothill did not step on the pitch this week as they won via forfeit against Monterey Peninsula.
No. 2 Hartnell leaps to the second overall spot after earning a commanding 7-0 win over Ohlone and a 2-1 triumph over CC San Francisco. No. 3 Folsom Lake boots No. 4 Mt San Antonio off the podium with a victory over Modesto, while the Mounties dropped a game to South Coast Conference (SCC) rival No. 5 Cerritos, 2-0.
No. 5 Cerritos still remains a threat to reach the top three and has a steady eye on a conference title. They will square off against No. 8 El Camino after the Warriors just hauled in two more victories to push them two spots up in the standings.
No. 10 Taft took a four-position tumble after losing just one game, while No. 11 Butte climbed three spots after a flawless 2-0 weekend.
There were no other major shifts in the polls aside from No. 19 Santa Barbara and No. 20 Long Beach rejoining the rankings. They bumped out Cuyamaca and Las Positas.
