Los Angeles - The season is looking promising for the LACC men's soccer team, but not without growing pains. The Cubs hosted their second game of the season on Friday night against College of the Canyons, where Luis Mora made history by becoming the first LACC goal-scorer in over a decade. Coach Aguiniga Campos has assembled a formidable squad that is tough on defense. Juan Felix' thirty-yard run ended with a beautiful cross just before it went out of bounds and the ball sailed to a perfectly positioned Luis Mora who headed it into the net. A euphoric bench screamed goal at the top of their lungs as teammates hugged Mora. The Cubs went for more but missed several clear chances. College of the Canyons were awarded a penalty with 10 minutes to go and tied the score. It was a heartbreaking tie for LACC as they let their first win slip out of their hands. The wins will eventually come but they must be patient.
