Oxnard College goalkeeper Eduardo Garcia and head coach Ross Greaney were honored by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America on Thursday, four days after the Condors won the first CCCAA state championship in school history.

Garcia was named a first-team NSCAA All-American. The sophomore from Carpinteria High was second in the state with 10 shutouts, did not allow a goal from open play over the final 437 minutes of postseason play and dove to his left to make a title-protecting save in the final moments of the 2-1 overtime win over Evergreen Valley.

Greaney, the architect of Oxnard College's first team title in 40 years of history, was named NSCAA regional Coach of the Year. The St. Bonaventure High and Oxnard College product guided the Condors to their first state Final Four berth and a school-record 19 wins.

Greaney is one of four nominees for the NSCAA national Coach of the Year award, which will be announced Dec. 16.

Oxnard was second in the NSCAA's final national poll, the highest finish in school history. Nassau (N.Y.) C.C. was crowned national champion.

ALL-SOCAL HONORS

Oxnard College attacker Gustavo Navarro, Moorpark College midfielder Nina Winsick and Ventura College midfielder Megan Henderson were named to the men's and women's All-Southern California teams, respectively, by the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association on Wednesday.

Navarro, a sophomore from Hueneme High, led the state champion with 14 goals and four assists in just 20 matches.

Winsick, a freshman from Oak Park High who hadn't played soccer since middle school, had a goal and a team-high 11 assists as the Raiders reached the CCCAA Southern California regional finals for the first time since 2008.

Henderson, a freshman from Royal High, had eight goals and three assists for the Pirates. She had three goals at Oxnard and two goals at Moorpark.
