SBVC Men’s Soccer keeps post season dreams alive by throttling the Rams, 5-0
SBVC (7-8-3; 3-2-1) has put a charge into their season as of late, leveling several teams in their wake as they desperately make a push to the playoffs, today’s victim was the Victorville Victor Valley Rams (4-11-3; 2-3-1), 5-0.

SBVC freshman goal keeper Saul Alcaraz (Fontana Jurupa Hills) played 64 minutes and only had to make one save and it was a huge one, with his defensive front keeping the Rams at a distance, the home side kept his clean sheet intact when he handed over the game to freshman goal keeper Jonathan Lopez (Moreno Valley Valley View).
SBVC put their offense in drive and didn't look back as the opened up the scoring in the 15th minute when sophomore midfielder Jason Goicochea (Moreno Valley Valley View) linked up with sophomore defender Brian Aguilar (Moreno Valley Valley View) for a shot that bounded over the Rams keepers outstretched hands to give SBVC a 1-0 lead.
The next to add their name to the goal list was freshman midfielder Jose Flores (Fontana Jurupa Hills) who chested down a lob shot from Aguilar to pound home his contribution, giving SBVC a 2-0 lead in the 29th minute.
It was time for Goicochea to get back into the action as he darted down the field to pass the ball to freshman midfielder Adam Franco (Rialto W.A. Carter) who rifled a shot past the keeper to give SBVC a commanding 3-0 lead. Both teams went into halftime with the score 3-0.
Midway through the second half, in the 67th minute, SBVC expanded their lead when freshman defender Sean Power (Riverside Martin Luther King, Jr.) connected with freshman forward Jose Castaneda (Lake Arrowhead Rim of the World) in a shot that fooled the Rams keeper, giving SBVC an insurmountable 4-0 lead.
Then in the 83rd minute, freshman defender Leonardo Souza (Colégio São Luís, Brazil) who had just missed a header goal by inches moments earlier, lobbed a pass to sophomore midfielder Miguel Garcia-Rosas (Perris Citrus Hill) who punched a shot past the keeper in the 83rd minute to give SBVC a 5-0 win.
