Folsom Lake Places Second Behind SRJC

After a one-week break in their tournament schedule, the FLC men's golf team had hopes of closing the gap on Big 8 Conference leader Santa Rosa over the second half of the season.  But in yesterday's Tournament #7 at Spring Creek Country Club in Ripon, the Falcons fell further behind Santa Rosa as the Bearcubs won with a dominating performance.  Their team score of 370 was 30 strokes ahead of second-place Folsom Lake and moved them seven points ahead in the overall standings.  "They (Santa Rosa) are playing exceptionally well right now and we are struggling to get six players on track at the same time," remarked Falcons' golf coach Barry Zarecky.  As evidence of that, the Falcons had just two players shoot in the 70's while one shot a 90. 

The Falcons have five tournaments remaining to make up those seven points in the standings.
