GREENVILLE - The outpouring of support continues in the town of Greenville weeks after the Dixie Fire destroyed it.
30 baseball players from Feather River College in Quincy came to Greenville to help deliver new refrigerators to people whose homes are still standing.
The first one was delivered to Denise Savala's house.
"Greenville is not so much the buildings but the people that live here so it's more of this kind of thing than any of these buildings that can be replaced honestly,” Savala said.
Savala's house was one of the few in town spared by the Dixie Fire. She's been without power for weeks.
Friday a group of college athletes swapped out her old fridge for a new one.
“It makes us feel good as a team, as a unit, it’s nice giving back to the community to help,” said Garret Damico, a student at Feather River.
The Dixie Fire burned through the town on Aug. 4 and nearly destroyed the town of 800 people.
“I feel good, I feel terrible for these people so we're doing what we can to help them out,” said Ryan Kistle, a student at Feather River.
On Friday, the mandatory evacuation in Greenville was downgraded.
“I’m super surprised and thankful of everything that everyone is doing here, not only Greenville but Quincy and other surrounding counties have come out to help. We're all connected one way or another,” Savala said.
