1-2-3 remain intact in CCCSIA state baseball poll
CCCSIA Baseball Poll (April 13)
PASADENA, Calif. - El Camino (32-2) scored 139 out of a possible 140 points as it continues not only as the No. 1 ranked team in the California Community College Sports Information Association State Top 20 Baseball poll but its winning streak, now at an amazing 24 games.
Orange Coast (25-6) remains in second, Santa Rosa (25-6) at No. 3, Ohlone (29-3) moving up to No. 4 and San Mateo (27-5) also rising to No. 5. Other top 10 teams climbing in spots were No. 6 Palomar (25-6), No. 7 San Joaquin Delta (26-6), and No. 8 Riverside CC (26-8). Sacramento City (24-8) dropped all the way from fourth to No. 9 while Glendale (26-5-1) hung on to its No. 10 spot.
Going into April 13 games, the conference races are as follows:
El Camino clinches at least a tie for the South Coast Conference South Division title at 17-0. Long Beach City is in second at 11-5.
Orange Coast remains tied with Riverside to lead the Orange Empire race, both 12-3. No. 12 Cypress is in third with Saddleback.
Santa Rosa and Sacramento are deadlocked for the Big 8 top spot at 15-4. Delta is 4 games back in the win column.
Ohlone is now two games ahead in the Coast Pacific standings over No. 13 Cabrillo and No. 16 Skyline.
San Mateo has built a three-game lead in the Coast Golden Gate standings over De Anza.
Palomar is two games back of the win column behind No. 11 Grossmont in the PCAC race.
No. 10 Glendale keeps its half-game lead over No. 17 Canyons in the Western State East.
No. 14 Merced leads the Central Valley standings by 3 games over new No. 20 Sequoias, 4 over Reedley, and 5 ahead of No. 15 Fresno City.
New No. 18 LA Mission is just a 1/2 game back of Pierce in the Western State South race.
Unranked Pasadena City opened a 2 game lead over No. 19 Chaffey in the South Coast North.
Outside of the Top 20
Marin is in sole possession of 1st place in the Bay Valley standings, a game ahead of both Los Medanos and Laney.
Feather River is three games ahead in the win column to top the Golden Valley over Butte and Lassen.
Santa Barbara City holds a 1/2 game lead in the WSC North over Moorpark with Cuesta 1 game back.
