SARATOGA, Calif. - West Valley beach and indoor volleyball stalwarts Emma Blockhus, Kristen Hayes and Morgan Wright recently signed National Letters of Intent to continue their playing and academic careers at three NCAA Division I universities.

Two-year beach starter Blockhus accepted a scholarship to St. Mary's College in Moraga after teaming with Mapuhola Sekona to form one of the most formidable pairs in California and competing in the recent CCCAA state championships as the No. 3 NorCal team. She graduated from West Valley with a 3.5 GPA in liberal studies.

Hayes was a two-year starter in both beach and indoor for coach Armen Zakarian's Vikings. She inked a full scholarship agreement with North Alabama, where she will play both beach and indoor for the Lions. Hayes completed her liberal studies AA at West Valley with a 3.6 GPA.

Wright takes her indoor and academic talents to UC Berkeley. She was also a two-year beach and indoor starter, garnering All-South first-team indoor honors in 2017 and, with teammate Kaylin Henderson, competed in the recent CCCAA pairs state championship tourney. Wright majored in biology at West Valley, graduating with a 3.7 GPA.
