MARAUDER BEACH VOLLEYBALL STILL WITHOUT A WIN

VENTURA - The Marauder beach volleyball team was swept in both matches, 5-0, against Ventura College and L.A. Pierce College, Friday afternoon in Ventura.
The Marauders have struggled this season winning sets and despite being shutout by Pierce, two teams took the Brahmas to three sets.
Elizabeth Perez and Nicole Pullum won thier first set 22-20 against Pierce's Sade Escobar and Cairo Harrell. The second set was nearly as close as Escobar and Harrell squeaked it out 21-17. Pierce's duo rallied in the third set to take home the match, 15-11.
Lakyra Broadus and Destiny Frederick also won their first set against Hayley Alvarez and Tina Krivokapic, 22-20, but the Brahmas rallied and dominated the next two, 21-12, 15-8. The No. 1 team of Sam Tago and Maryah Tatum were defeated by Pierce's Bea Hernandez and Whitley Doss, 21-16, 21-17.
The Marauders failed to win a set in the match against Ventura.
Tago and Tatum were easily defeated by the Cougars' Tori Hiott and Sarah Veloz, 21-11, 21-13. It was the second time Hiott and Veloz defeated AVC's pair. Earlier this season Ventura's No. 1 team defeated Tago and Tatum, 21-13, 21-16.
Hannah Douglas and Gizzelle Navarro lost to Brittney Mukhar and Paris Dosch, 21-12, 21-5.
