MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: SWEET REVENGE WIN

After suffering a 3-2 heartbreaker against Santa Barbara City on Wednesday, the Hornets rose up at home Friday defeating Grossmont College 3-2.

It was a nice win for Fullerton as the team had been swept by Grossmont 3-0 earlier in the season.

Game one was a struggle that saw both teams duke it out from the start. The Hornets managed to sneak away with the set 25-23. Game two belonged to Grossmont as the team took an early lead and walked away 25-19. The Griffins took game three 25-21, but FC fought back hard in game four to take it in a battle 28-26. It all came down to the fifth and final game, and Fullerton did not disappoint scraping by with a 16-14 win taking the match outright.

Three Hornets had double-digit kills in Ezekiel Vaielua (18), Leonardo Mazuco (17), and Miguel Cortez (16). Noah Lourenco led the team in digs (13) and assists (55). David Lucio chipped in with 7 kills and Hunter Wong-Hin helped out with 7 digs.

Up Next: Fullerton (3-4 overall) will host Palomar College on Wednesday, February 26th at 6:00 pm.
