COMETS PITCH PAST FULLERTON

COMETS PITCH PAST FULLERTON

The Hornets had their home opener on Thursday afternoon against Palomar College and fell 3-0 in a non-conference game.

A pitcher's duel, the Comets did not bring the first run across until the 5th inning. They tacked on two more insurance runs in the top of the seventh to hold on for the win.

Palomar's Farrah Steffany took the win tossing a 7-inning 3 hitter. Starting in the circle for Fullerton was Madison Pevehouse, who went 4 innings with 4 hits, no runs, no walks, and 2 K's. Isabella Najera took the loss going 1.1 innings with 2 hits against, 1 unearned run, 1 walk, and 1 strikeout. Emily Flores went the final 2.2 innings with 3 hits against, and 2 earned runs.

The 3 Hornet hits came from Dee Ramirez, Bella Morales, and Olivia Nunez (double).

Up Next: FC (6-3-1 overall, 2-0 OEC) have a big conference game tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 25) at home against Santa Ana College. The first pitch goes out at 2:00 pm.
