SMC Tennis defeats Antelope Valley College, 7-2

 

SMC women's tennis hosted Antelope Valley College today and avenged their first match loss to AVC on February 1st winning decisively, 7-2.

 

West and Nikchevic got things rolling for the Corsairs with a 8-0 win at no. 1 doubles.  Juyan Pollack and Veronica Gerlach added the second point with an 8-4 win at no. 2 doubles.  AVC won at no. 3 doubles.

 

Nicole West (no. 1 singles), Veronica Gerlach (No. 3 singles) both won their singles matches without dropping a game.  Nikchevich won at no. 2 singles winning 6-2, 6-0.  West and Nikchevich are both undefeated at their respective singles positions, no. 1 and no. 2.

 

Juyan Pollack (no. 5 singles) won handily, 6-0, 6-1.  Yasna Yaghoubi, the last Corsair playing scored the Corsairs final and 7th point for the day with a 6-4, 6-2 win at  no. 4 singles.
