KNIGHTS WIN FINAL TWO GAMES OF REGULAR SEASON

REDDING, Calif. – The Shasta College women's basketball team beat Feather River College 56-49 on Monday and Lassen College 54-39 at home on Friday to close out the 2022-23 regular season.

The Knights clinched a playoff spot in the California Community College Athletic Association Regional Championship tournament. Shasta (13-14) is the 14th seed in the NorCal Bracket and is hosting No. 19 San Mateo (18-9) on Wednesday. The winner heads to No. 3 College of the Sequoias (26-2) on Saturday.

Five of the six Golden Valley Conference teams earned a playoff spot. Butte College earned the No. 1 seed in the NorCal Bracket at 24-3 overall, Feather River is the No. 9 seed at 18-7, College of the Siskiyous is the No. 15 seed at 18-8 and Lassen is the No. 22 seed at 11-16.

Shasta 56, Feather River 49
The Knights outscored the Golden Eagles 17-9 after the first quarter and led 40-31 heading into the final period before closing it out. Shasta held the edge in turnovers 21-9 and made 10 3-pointers in the game. Kaleia Mizuta led the way with 12 points and four assists, Isabella Padilla scored 11 points and Creedence Shaver scored seven points and a team-high six rebounds. Amber Wallace scored seven points and grabbed a team-best four steals.

Shasta 54, Lassen 39
The Knights led by two at halftime and blew the game open in the second half, outscoring the Cougars 28-15 in that span. Wallace had 19 points and nine rebounds, Mizuta scored 14 points to go with seven rebounds and five assists and Padilla nearly had a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds.

Shasta finished the regular season 6-4 in Golden Valley Conference play and 13-14 overall.
