Blake Lockhart notched a career-high 19 kills and hit .471 on Friday night as SBCC downed Moorpark 3-1 in a men's volleyball match at the Sports Pavilion. Three of the four sets went overtime and the scores were 25-27, 26-24, 25-17, 32-30.

The exciting fourth set was the longest of the year for the Vaqueros. The WSC victory avenged a 3-2 loss on the Raiders' court on Feb. 27.

SBCC, ranked No. 4 in the state, improved to 8-5 overall and 4-3 in conference. Moorpark falls to 7-5 and 3-4.

Trent Lingruen added a season-high 18 kills for the Vaqueros, who posted their third-highest hitting percentage of the year (.382). The 6-3 freshman from Tahoe City has had 15 or more kills in five of his last six matches.

Calvin Sanborn had 15 kills and Zac Pittard was nearly perfect in the middle. The 6-7 freshman had eight kills in nine swings with zero errors for a sizzling .889 percentage. He also led the team in blocks with five.

Aaron Letvin had 37 assists, 11 digs and three aces. Lockhart and Chayton Clark added 10 digs apiece.

"Our matches with Moorpark are always exciting and down to the final points of each set," said SBCC coach Jon Newton. "It's been that way with them for the last few years, always a battle to the end. Aaron [Hedlund] does a great job with that program. I enjoy the friendly rivalry we've created over the past few seasons."

The Vaqueros will play their next three matches on the road. They'll travel to Santa Monica on Wednesday (5 p.m.) and L.A. Pierce on Friday (6 p.m.).
