Baseball Falls at San Mateo on Opening Day

San Mateo, Calif. - Freshman shortstop Nico Castrillo went 3-of-4 in his collegiate debut, but the Solano baseball team fell 14-2 at San Mateo on Opening Day on Thursday afternoon.

Freshmen Dimitri McLen and Victor Vega also recorded multi-hit outings with a pair of singles each with McLen earning the team's lone RBI, coming in the team's two-run seventh inning.

On the hill, freshman righty Anthony Galindo (0-1) was charged with the loss as the starting pitcher. He threw 4.2 innings, allowing seven hits and five earned runs. 

Solano (0-1) continues the series against San Mateo at home on Saturday, Jan. 29 at 1 p.m.
