Folsom, Calif. - Freshman Melanie Fisher and sophomore Yasmeen Awad recorded a pair of wins as the Solano women's tennis team defeated Folsom Lake, 7-1, in its season opener on Friday afternoon.

Fisher and Awad both earned singles wins in two sets, while the duo won their doubles competition. Sophomore Jyne Velono and freshmen Yanci Yanez and Anastasia Anguiano all won their singles matches in straight sets.

The Falcons (1-0) return home to host Diablo Valley next on Tuesday, Feb. 26 at 1 p.m.
