The Chabot men's basketball team rebounded from a tough loss to State No. 1 City College of San Francisco in its Coast-North opener with a thumping of host Canada-Redwood City, 92-73 on Jan. 10. Izayah Talmadge and Jabari Sweet led the Gladiators with 14 points apiece.

Sweet was an impressive 7 of 9 from the floor. Overall, Chabot shot a tidy 61 percent from the floor and 38 percent from 3-point range. Skylar Robinson provided a lift off the bench with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Chabot (10-6, 1-1), which figures to battle a handful of teams for second place in the Coast-North, has a big week ahead with a game at Skyline (8-7, 1-1) on Wednesday, Jan. 15, and a home showdown against Las Positas (12-4, 2-0) at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17.
