CYPRESS, CA - The Cypress Men's Soccer team (9-6-5, 5-4-3 OEC) hosted the Fullerton Hornets (9-6-6, 3-4-5 OEC) in a must-win game on Friday afternoon. The Chargers were able to come up with a huge 1-0 victory over the Hornets to keep their playoff chances alive. The CCCAA will configure the final rankings over the weekend and determine the bracket for the 2021 playoffs. 

The Fullerton Hornets came into the match ranked #16 in the state as the Chargers looked to keep their playoff hopes alive. Nomar Ibarra scored the lone goal for Cypress on a penalty kick in the 67th minute. Julio Perez led the offensive attack with three total shots, two of them on goal. Ultimately it was the defensive effort from the Chargers that earned them the victory, led by Goalkeeper Alex Felix who finished with nine saves.
