Huntington Beach, CA- Cypress women's volleyball (3-1, 3-1 OEC) hosted Orange Coast College (1-3, 1-3 OEC) at the Newland Courts in Huntington Beach on Friday afternoon. The Chargers split the matches with the Pirates, taking the first match 3-2 while dropping match two 2-3. 

Cypress faced Orange Coast after defeating Saddleback in their fist OEC double header of the year. Orange Coast came into the matchup (0-2) after dropping both matches last week to the Fullerton Hornets. In match one, Lauren Adamo and Kaelie Tulette battled in a back and forth against Enright and Street from OCC but fell in both sets 21-14. Cypress was able to secure the #3, #4, and #5 matchups to propel them to victory. Amanda Risch and Amanda Vos pushed their match to three sets after losing 13-21 in the first set. In set two, they pulled out a 25-23 victory, and used their momentum to finish off the match 15-11. Jamie Choi and Alyssa Hernandez found themselves in a similar situation after dropping their first set, 9-21. After forcing a third set in their match they went on to win, 15-8. The Chargers had no quit in match one and were able to pull out a close victory, 3-2.

In game two, Miranda Telles and Alexis Flores were able to win their first match of the season against Orange Coast's number ones, 16-21, 21-16, 18-16. After a tough first match the Chargers ran out of gas as their #2, #3, and #5 pairs were defeated. Jamie Choi and Alyssa Hernandez were able to move to a perfect 4-0 on the season after defeating their matchup 21-10 and 21-11. 

UP NEXT: The Chargers will look forward to a tough matchup next week vs the Fullerton Hornets. First match will start at 10am at the Newland Volleyball Courts in Huntington Beach.
