The West Valley beach volleyball team topped De Anza 4-1 to salvage a split at Friday's Coast Conference finale in Saratoga. The Vikings finished the regular season 15-5 overall, 10-2 in the Coast, two matches behind Cabrillo (19-1, 12-0).

The Vikings played their worst match of the year against the Seahawks, although the opening tilt provided two of the day's most competitive contests. Both the 1's and the 2's matches went the distance, with WVC nearly pulling off reverse-sweep rallies. WVC 2's Camdyn Albrecht/Alina Valenti fell to Ashleigh Souza/Alana Patyk 21-17, 15-21, 15-11, while Cabrillo 1's Shirley Morrison/Carly Ditz avenged an April 1 loss to West Valley's Katie Kishton/Flor Porras with a 21-18, 19-21, 16-14 heart-stopper.

WVC defeated De Anza 4-1 in the afternoon match to complete a season-sweep of the Mountain Lions (5-11, 3-9).
