Warriors Come From Behind to Take Series Against LA Harbor at Home

TORRANCE, Calif. - The El Camino College baseball team had to come from behind again in a 10-6 victory over LA Harbor at home on Thursday afternoon.

The Warriors (13-6, 7-1) have now won three straight conference series to start South Coast Conference play after previously beating Mt. Sac and Cerritos.  They have also won five games in a row.  

The Warriors offense once again had a big day at the plate as they outhit the Seahawks (8-10, 2-3) 17 hits-to-10 hits for the game.  For the second straight game, every Warrior in the starting lineup had a base hit. Seven of the Warriors had multi-hit games. Neil Feist led the offense with a 3-for-4 game with two runs and two RBIs.  Benny Casillas, Jimmy Galicia, Chris Villavicencio, Juan Carlos Camarena, and Julian Diaz each had two hits.

The Warriors have 36 hits and scored 19 runs in two games vs LA Harbor.

Julian Aguiar moved to 4-0 on the season after allowing five runs (three earned) in 6.1 innings of work.  He allowed eight hits, walked none, and struck out seven batters. Kyle Hatai picked up his second save after throwing 2.2 innings of work and allowing one run on two hits and four strikeouts.

Anthony Gomez took the loss for the Seahawks after allowing eight runs on eleven hits in 4.1 innings.

LA Harbor jumped to a 4-0 lead to start the scoring after scoring a pair of runs in the second and third inning.  Aguiar settled down after the third inning and retired 11 batters in a row before allowing another baserunner in the sixth on a hit by pitch.  

The Warriors got one run back in the third inning to cut the deficit to three.  Juan Carlos Camarena had a single down the LF line and eventually scored on a Benny Casillas single up the middle.

The Warriors finally got to the LA Harbor starter after posting a big fourth inning and took control of the game after putting up a six-spot in the inning.  The Warriors had six consecutive hits from Jimmy Galicia, Aaron Orozco, Chris Villavicencio, Neil Feist, Juan Carlos Camarena, and Julian Diaz all with one out. They scored four runs during the duration of those six at-bats.  They added one more run on a Casillas sac fly and another run on a Chase Cosner single before the inning would end. 

The Warriors added a run in the fifth, seventh, and eighth inning. Aaron Orozco scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning. Neil Feist scored on a Julian Diaz double in the seventh inning. Diego Alarcorn scored on a fielder's choice in the eighth inning.

The Warriors will look to complete their second straight conference series sweep in a row on Saturday.  The Warriors head to LA Harbor on Saturday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
