No. 3 Rams roll to 67-43 playoff win over No. 14 Redwoods

SAN FRANCISCO – Freshman Talo Li-Uperesa had a monster game of 25 points and 18 rebounds to help move the No. 3 seeded City College of San Francisco women's basketball team one step closer to reaching the state tournament. The Rams defeated No. 14 College of the Redwoods by a final score of 67-43 in Round 2 of the Northern California Regional Playoffs on Thursday night at Brad Duggan Court.

CCSF will host No. 6 College of the Sequoias on Saturday (Mar. 5) at 5:30 p.m. in a third-round game with the winner advancing to the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships in Lemoore.

Ticket prices for the CCCAA postseason game at the CCSF Wellness Center's Brad Duggan Court are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. Tickets will be available online at https://ccsfathletics.com/tickets.

Sequoias was an 89-61 winner over No. 11 Modesto Junior College in its second-round game on Thursday in Visalia. The Giants are 22-5 overall and were champions of the Central Valley Conference at 11-1. They enter Saturday's contest riding an 11-game winning streak.

CCSF surged to its 10th straight win with the victory over Redwoods. The game was close early, with the two squads all tied up at halftime 26-26. The Rams pulled away in the third and outscored Redwoods 22-5 over the final quarter to cruise to the victory.

Li-Uperesa, the Coast Conference North Division MVP, supplied most of the Rams' offense on the night and added 4 steals and a pair of blocks.

Teuila Tuiasosopo was a spark off the bench with 9 points and 8 rebounds. Mikayla Amoroso and Stacy Angel-Haro both scored 7 points each while Sierra Kolomatangi contributed 9 rebounds and a pair of assists.

The win improved the Rams to 21-5 overall. CCSF looks to return to the state tournament for the first time since 2017.
